Scotty - After an extensive background in the outdoor retail sector Scotty made the move to further his mechanical skills to head up our MTB servicing department. Little do people know Scotty only had his first competitive mountain bike race one year ago and has since competed in numerous 6 hour and 12 hour enduros. He recently finished second in the Kellevie 24hr in only his second attempt which has earned him selection for the World 24 Hour Championship in Canberra coming up in October 2010. Scotty enjoys the simple things in life, he has never owned a motor vehicle or mobile phone - he just rides. If you need to know where the trails are just ask Scotty. If you are on the hunt for a duallie or a hardtail come and see Scotty. Scotty races on a Trek Top Fuel and as a backup use a G.T carbon Zaskar for pure speed. These are only 2 of his stable of 9 bikes. Sage - Sage joined us fulltime this year and is undertaking the Tafe Tasmania certificate III bicycle maintenance apprenticeship. He has had a great head start on this as Sage previously come to us on two work placements during his school days and has held a part time position here for the last three years. Sage enjoys both road and mountain biking but we think his talent is on the road. Once his "fettuccini legs" see the hills that is the last we see of him. Sage's stable consists of a Jamis Hardtail & his new Italian "Opera Princess" Pinarello Roadie. Annie - Annie is the back bone of the CTC Cafe. One of the longest standing members of the team has been here since day one. Annie is responsible for the mouth watering aromas that spread through the shop and keep the regulars well fed but the staff are guaranteed to never 'hunger Flat'. All of our patrons are never disappointed with any of the broad & delicious selections on offer. The word around Launceston is that the best flat white can be found at CTC by 'the lady down the back' That's Annie! Check out the Cafe link to see the latest menu. Annie's bike of choice is a Trek WSD Fuel EX7. Chris - Chris is the all rounder of the team, he has a go at everything, Especially the cafe . Chris comes from 7 years experience in the wholesale industry, his enthusiasm towards customers is a stand out as well as his product knowledge in this industry. When he is not riding on the road he is on the trails reminiscing about his downhill days, oh and he used to ride on the track as well. He's handy on the tools when needed but Chris's friendly manner makes him our front of house. Chris's bikes of choice are a Trek Fuel EX9 for the trails & a Carbon 5.2 Trek Modone. Nathan - Nathan has been involved with bikes...........well all his life & has enjoyed riding them almost as long and like most he has progressed to bigger and various types . His first job was at the local bike shop 20 years ago and he has been in the industry every since. CTC has been his passion for the past 10 years and Nathan enjoys the challenge of converting people to the "bike way of life". A regular participant in all aspects of cycling , Nathan loves to ride & loves fixing them just as much and over the years has been lucky enough to work and learn from some of the worlds best mechanics. Nathan is one of the best with the tools going around and although he is to modest to tell you so, his reputation is very well earned and it shows in his shop. The walls are decorated with a collection signed jerseys & pictures of some of the worlds best athletes & cycling identities. Nathan has recently gained certification in triathlon coaching level 1. Nathan is always happy to share his knowledge to anyone bike minded. Nath's stable consists of, a trek madone 6.9 project 1 /sram red, trek 9.8 elite carbon hardtail & a gary fisher hifi pro 29er. So call in and meet the team at CTC. |
